The moon is our sun

Joy and sorrow needs distortion We live under the curse of music. Our stage is the night. It makes us sometimes laugh, sometimes cry and through the streets of Berlin we wander in search of our motives... to jump, to scream, to shout, to be silent, to dance. We are the ghosts of Berlin. Silhouettes that get lost in horizons of prefabricated panels and concrete heroes, intoxicated by our favorite elixir: freedom. Our stories are told with Fuzz or Overdrive, because Grunge never stopped appearing in our hallucinations. Sometimes we are real, sometimes just a rumor, a whistle of a tired wind or a laugh that requires no explanation.

Whirlpool brings together musicians from Ireland's east coast who live and breathe production, creating a sonic vortex that pulls the audience into an immersive whirlpool of sound.

I have had the pleasure of working with the power house artist Toshín,  several times since she has made her move to Berlin! I am really happy that we finally managed to get her own show her at one of my fave musical homes at Schokoladen! Toshín and the band will be performing two sessions - so please do come out on time to catch both and we look forward to giving her the spotlight this coming July 15th!

Born in Nigeria, raised in Ireland, and now Berlin-based, Toshín is a powerful vocalist, songwriter, and performer whose music bridges soul, R&B, Afro-pop, jazz, and contemporary African influences. Renowned for her commanding stage presence and emotionally charged performances, she combines rich vocals, infectious rhythms, and compelling storytelling to create live experiences that are both uplifting and deeply human.

A prominent voice in Ireland’s evolving music landscape, Toshín explores themes of identity, belonging, resilience, joy, and empowerment through songs that draw from both her Nigerian heritage and Irish upbringing. Her performances effortlessly move between intimate reflection and exuberant celebration, inviting audiences into a space of connection, vulnerability, and collective energy. Equally captivating is her natural humor and warmth on stage, which create an immediate rapport with audiences and add an unexpected layer of charm and spontaneity to her performances.

She has appeared at major festivals including Electric Picnic and All Together Now, and has shared stages with artists such as Macy Gray, Gregory Porter, Madness, and Tank and the Bangas. She has even done a surprising duet with Bono at a Wedding! With her unique blend of musicality, charisma, wit, and authenticity, Toshín continues to establish herself as one of the most exciting emerging voices on the Irish and international scene.

Oh No Noh [Teleskop)
Searching for beauty in unconventional musical settings, obsolete technology and daily surroundings by using robots, tapes, guitar and other.

Rotterdam-based artist LOVETH BESAMOH merges diverse influences from krautpunk and post-punk to afro-psychedelica and electronica into a sound that's as eclectic as it is compelling. With roots in Cameroon, where he honed his rhythmic talents in church and boarding school, Loveth seamlessly blends traditional African influences with modern genres to create music that's uniquely his own.

Initially a solo project, Loveth Besamoh evolved into a dynamic four-piece band. Featuring Ywan van der Keur (drums), Do Milder (guitar), Quincy Fortes (bass), and Loveth himself on vocals and djembe, their live shows are known for their electrifying energy.

APELAST is a psych-stoner rock band blending fuzzy, blues-infused solos with shoegaze textures and raw energy.

Fronted by vocalist, guitarist, and producer Neta Apelast (also known for work with Acid Boys, Maggot Heart, Lucifer, and Otherface), the band performs in various lineups—ranging from a stripped-down duo to a full four-piece ensemble.

Drawing inspiration from acts like Queens of the Stone Age, Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats, and Grand Funk Railroad, Apelast crafts a powerful sound that fuses high-octane rock'n'roll with emotional ballads. With gritty riffs, catchy melodies, and soulful vocals, their dynamic blend of heavy and heartfelt will shake your bones and stay in your head.

Amplify emerging Ecuadorian artists while weaving connections among Berlin’s migrant diasporas

M:Soundtrack x +59Ñ3que Collective Presents: Luna del Ciervo: w/ Shumay (Songwriter_Ecuador/bln) x

x Misa Negra (performance project) x San Pedro Bonfim (Ecuador/Brazil/Lolabum)

Resident Djs: Suena Chelo, ENTECALIENTE, Elac!onSensac!on

An evening dedicated to celebrating contemporary Abya Yala folk rhythms in an acoustic format, curated by the collective +59Ñ3que.

This collaboration emerges from a desire to amplify emerging Ecuadorian artists while weaving connections among Berlin’s migrant diasporas. It aims to foster a sense of community and preserve cultural memory through songs that carry the stories, languages, and worldviews of these territories.

Rooted in the lands of the South, Shumay weaves songs of life, resistance, and belonging. Accompanied by her guitar, she transforms memory, grief, and anger into collective song, creating spaces where personal and territorial struggles become shared acts of remembrance, care, and resilience.

Misa Negra (Cynthia Alexandra x Yanara Zarhi x Bethu Avendaño) Blending music, poetry, and performative ritual, Misa Negra explores how memory, spirituality, and cultural practices continue to evolve across time and place. Working at the intersection of the ceremonial and the everyday, the project creates immersive spaces where personal narratives connect with broader histories of migration, loss, and belonging.

Rather than preserving ritual as a fixed tradition, Misa Negra approaches it as a living, contemporary practice—one that can offer connection, resistance, and healing in times of uncertainty. Through voice, sound, and collective presence, the performance opens a space for reflection on what we carry forward, what transforms, and how we remain connected to one another. https://www.instagram.com/misanegraperformance/

San Pedro Bonfim is the solo project of Pedro Bonfim, an Ecuadorian artist with Brazilian roots, born in Quito. For more than a decade, he has led @lolabumdicealo in his native Ecuador, a band with which he has released five albums and established himself as one of the most distinctive and recognizable independent music projects in the country. He holds a degree in Literature from the "Universidad de las Artes" and has worked in music for more than ten years. He has released three solo albums and five with his band Lolabúm. With a multifaceted writing style, his lyrics have been one of the main driving forces behind his musical projects.

In 2024, he released "Corazón de Guagua", a production made in Colombia that was very well received by both audiences and critics, even appearing among the 25 best Spanish-language songs of 2024 according to Rolling Stone magazine.  https://www.instagram.com/sanpedrobonfim/https://open.spotify.com/album/2PkDUZ3RDfvafQp9FdWffT?si=8ehugYdKSh2BzjM95Ij3RQ
