WESLEY & THE BOYS are a 4 piece rock and roll band based in Nashville, TN. Equally inspired by 70s NYC rock and roll and 2000s garage rock revival, W&TB bring a high energy show every night. 2025 brought the release of their second album, Rock & Roll Ruined My Life, noted as “predictably magnificent” by see-saw.fun. The band kicked off Gonerfest 22 in 2025 and is slated to perform at Total Punk’s Corporate Retreat in 2026 before heading to Europe in the fall.

"Ob Punks, Skinheads, Heavy-Metal-Fans oder Gothics: Mitglieder der vermeintlich „negativ-dekadenten" Jugend- und Subkulturen in der DDR waren es gewohnt, dass der SED-Staat sie und ihre Ausdrucksformen massiv unterdrückte. Auch die Produktion von eigenen Fanzines war kaum möglich, weshalb Fanzines aus dem Westen den Szenen immer wieder als Sprachrohr dienten. Erst in den letzten Jahren der DDR und in der Nachwendezeit entstanden auch in Ostdeutschland eigene Fanzines und Zeitschriften.
Im Rahmen des Projekts SPUR hat das Archiv der Jugendkulturen seine Fanzinesammlung systematisch nach solchen Zeugnissen durchforscht und Hunderte Quellen zusammengetragen. Der Pophistoriker Florian Völker stellt die daraus entstandene Quellenedition vor und liest ausgewählte Beiträge. Die Texte geben unmittelbare Einblicke in die damaligen Ereignisse – und zeigen, wie die Beteiligten sich selbst, ihre Szenen und ihre Zeit wahrnahmen."

BARRENS is a new trio from Gothenburg, Sweden, featuring 2 members of SCRAPS OF TAPE, a band that has been releasing albums on Denovali Records and touring for over 20 years, and whose last album “The Will To Burn” is an incredibly underrated masterpiece.

There is obviously lots of common ground between what the two bands do musically, yet BARRENS develop their own idiosyncratic sound on their stunning debut album Penumbra: driven by synths equally as by guitars, Penumbra is oscillating between the dark and the brighter side of post rock, but leaning more towards the dark. The album is conceptually circling around topics like change, metamorphosis and transformation, „especially movement into, through and out of shadows and back again“, guitarist Johan G Winther explains. „Being both lost in darkness, yet finding comfort there. Seeking it. Afloat in blinding light, suspended in darkness”, as it is etched into the vinyl.

The Rock Band Thank From Leeds first emerged in 2016 from the scene surrounding CHUNK, their city’s notorious – and now sadly defunct – DIY space. The band spent six years honing their brand of volatile and joyously cathartic post-punk alongside a hivemind of grindcore and powerviolence bands, UK garage and bashment DJs, and most things in between, before releasing their debut full length album ‘Thoughtless Cruelty’ in 2022.

Having weathered various lineup changes, since early 2023 Thank has settled on a core quartet of Lewis Millward (guitar/synth), Cameron Moitt (bass), Steve Myles (drums) and Freddy Vinehill-Cliffe (vocals/guitar). This incarnation of the band released ‘I Have A Physical Body That Can Be Harmed’ in late 2024, an acid-fried concoction of hardcore punk fury, jungle-inspired freneticism and synth pop bombast, and their first release via Big Scary Monsters.

2025 was a big year for Thank, starting with a UK co-headline tour alongside Kal Marks and ending with a run of shows opening for Mclusky and Young Knives across the UK and Germany, not to mention their busiest festival season yet, including explosive sets at 2000 Trees, Truck Festival, Manchester Punk Festival, ArcTanGent and more. Having spent the first half of 2026 laying low and working on album three, in May the band played a series of anniversary gigs, commemorating 10 years as a band. In October they will embark on their seventh tour of mainland Europe, playing in Denmark and the Netherlands for the first time ever.

Formed in Berlin’s underground in late 2022, LVFT (f.k.a. Berliner Lvft) is a four-piece outfit delivering a blistering take on noise-rock and post-punk. Influenced by titans like Fugazi, Sonic Youth, and U.S. Maple, Berliner Lvft’s music rides the line between earworm melodies and raw, jittery energy. Their sound is steeped in dissonant, feedback-laden guitars and cutthroat punk rhythms.

There’s a distinct turbulence frothing in Manchester. Not the sideways forever-rain or the static hum of a post-industrial hangover, but something stranger, lither, and more evasive. Enter MLEKO: a seven-piece. They twist, howl, and hold you over the edge with ever-so-slightly clammy hands. Beauty crosscut with beast and a side of sincerity... lathered in levity. Call them art-punk, call them post-everything, call them metalified neo-folk noise wizards with a brass fetish. MLEKO is an articulate goliath that keeps it weird, beautiful and joyous.

Seit 2020 vereinen Julian Knobloch-Krippner, Marlene Knobloch, Lasse Altmark und Jeremias Otto ihre kreativen Kräfte als VERSACER. Ihr Sound bewegt sich gekonnt zwischen Indiepop, 80s-Jangle und modernem Pop - tanzbar, modern und inspiriert von Metropolen wie New York und Manchester, während alle Vier in allen Gegenden Deutschlands verteilt leben. Ihre Songs sind ein Spiegel der Zeit, sie erzählen von gesellschaftlichem Druck, wackeligen Selbstbildern und dem Lebensgefühl einer Generation zwischen Gen Z und Millennials - authentisch, mal auf Deutsch, mal auf Englisch oder irgendwas dazwischen.

Mit nur ein paar Songs macht APOLLO ONLINE klar, was der Plan ist: gute Gitarren, Mitsing-Hooks, mitreißende Kompositionen und aus der One-Man-Show des Multiinstrumentalisten eine brutale Band formen. Der Nordamerika-Deutsche wächst zwischen Beatles und Beethoven auf, bildet sich musikalisch mit Coldplay und Stevie Wonder selbst. Dass er dabei die deutsche Sprache wieder lässig macht, von den Krämpfen und Verkantungen befreit, ist dabei fast logisch. Apollo Online tut das mit einer Selbstverständlichkeit, die an Bilderbuch oder Wanda erinnert und hat trotz der ansteckenden Unbekümmertheit in seiner Sprache eine packende Tiefe in den Songs. So spricht er über die Verluste und Siege, über die große Liebe und noch größere Zweifel. Um es mit seinen Worten zu sagen: „Keiner weiß so wirklich Bescheid/Let's go for a ride“.

FLUTEN sind keine Band, die sich leicht einordnen lässt – und das war seit ihrer Gründung 2007 auch nie ihr Ziel. Die Hamburger Band bewegt sich zwischen krachigen Gitarren, elektronischen Loops, brüchigen Popmomenten und lyrischer Sprachkraft. Post-Hardcore trifft auf Noise, Groove auf Melancholie, Wut auf Verletzlichkeit. Was zunächst widersprüchlich klingt, wird bei FLUTEN zum eigenen musikalischen Prinzip.

2026 erscheint mit „Kalter Stern“ das neue Album der Band – als Label-Kooperation von Rookie Records und Flight 13 Records. Produziert wurde es erneut von Hauke Albrecht (u. a. Turbostaat, Captain Planet), der bereits das Vorgängeralbum „Splitter“ klanglich geprägt hat. „Kalter Stern“ führt den eingeschlagenen Weg konsequent weiter, klingt dabei aber düsterer, dichter und dringlicher.

Die Songs erzählen vom Leben in einer beschädigten Gegenwart, von Sicherheiten, die zerfallen, und Gewissheiten, die nicht mehr tragen. Sie sind politisch, ohne Parolen zu brauchen, und persönlich, ohne sich ins Private zurückzuziehen. Zwischen gesellschaftlicher Überforderung, Entfremdung und den kleinen Rissen im eigenen Leben bleibt immer auch die Suche nach einem Ausweg: nach Widerstand, Bewegung und dem Moment, in dem etwas aufbricht.

FLUTEN schreiben keine eindeutigen Antworten. Ihre Texte bewegen sich zwischen militanten Gedichten und Phantasieuniformen, zwischen offenem Meer und kalten Sternen. Ihre Musik folgt dabei keiner geraden Linie: Sie funktioniert wie ein Film, der nicht chronologisch erzählt ist, wie ein Gefühl, das auf der Haut bleibt – und manchmal wie ein Ausbruch aus dem eigenen Takt.

Seit fast zwei Jahrzehnten entwickeln FLUTEN so ihren ganz eigenen Sound. Einen Sound, der sich jeder eindeutigen Zuordnung entzieht und gerade daraus seine Spannung bezieht: zwischen Melodie und Lärm, Entfremdung und Sehnsucht, Zerfall und Hoffnung.

Playing smashing power grunge into sun burned eyes as an anthem to their own delirium, Tough Mother is expressing disappointment in the world and everyone on it.

Malmequer is a Berlin-based Punk Rock trio from Brazil Brazilian friends who connect through the shared experience of living far from home, using music as an outlet to maintain sanity. They transform their lives into raw punk rock, exploring both political and personal aspects of mental health, lifestyle, and the socio-political issues that shape their worldview.

Melanie Baker makes music about everything that hurts and everything that feels just right. Based in Newcastle (UK), she writes with unflinching honesty — songs that sway between noisy catharsis and quiet confession, between absurd humour and deep vulnerability. With pounding drums, fuzzy guitars, and tender lyrical precision, Baker reclaims the grit and spirit of ’90s alt-rock through a queer, modern lens.

Her world is a blend of chaos and compassion, where anxiety, anger, love and laughter coexist in equal measure. She builds her songs like comic-book panels of emotional truth: hearts pumping out of chests, steam whistling from collars, cartoon melancholy meeting genuine tenderness. Her music invites the listener to cry, laugh, and scream along — sometimes all at once. 

Much of this universe — on stage, on the road, and at home — is seen through the lens of photographer and partner Ellen Dixon, who documents their life together in intimate, analog snapshots. The result is an ongoing portrait of a queer artist coming of age in the north of England: a scrapbook of van rides, small venues, backstage nerves, and private joy.
 
Live, Baker’s performances blur the line between theatre and therapy. Alongside drummer Adam Robson and multi-instrumentalist Jon Evans, she cracks jokes mid-breakdown, turns self-deprecation into community, and transforms unease into something radiant. What begins as personal confession often erupts into a roomful of strangers yelling the same truth at once.

Her work has been championed across BBC Radio 1, 2, and 6 Music, and her song “Double Decker Death Machine” featured on BBC TV’s Waterloo Road. But acclaim has never been the point. Baker’s art thrives in the messy, glorious space between pain and play — finding humour in heartbreak and hope in absurdity.
