Vian lässt Genregrenzen verschwimmen, so vereint er Neue Deutsche Welle, Indie und den Sound der 80s. Die Inhalte sind echt und spiegeln seine Erfahrungen mit dem Leben, der Liebe, Sehnsüchten und Ängsten wider. Damit lädt er sowohl dazu ein das Tanzbein zu schwingen, als auch sich voller Gefühle in die Arme zu fallen.

DIAMANDO
Mit einer außergewöhnlichen Stimme und seinen originellen Songtexten ist Diamando ein aufregender neuer Künstler der neuen neuen Deutschen Welle-Szene, auf den gut geachtet werden sollte. Mit vorantreibenden Beats und eingängigen Melodien zeigt Diamando, dass die neue neue Deutsche Welle aus dem 21. Jahrhundert lebendig und relevant ist. Die Gitarren lastigen Sounds sind unverwechselbar, die Texte erzählen eine andere Geschichte, die die Zuhörerschaft in den Bann zieht und sie nicht mehr loslässt. Diamando ist ein Künstler, der es versteht, das Publikum mit seiner Musik zu begeistern. Durch erfolgreiche Live-Performances erreicht er bereits eine wachsende Fangemeinde, die von
seiner Musik begeistert ist. Seine Musik reißt mit und entflammt!

AMBRA
Chiara R. auch bekannt als AMBRA ist eine Künstlerin mit italienischen Wurzeln die den Status Quo der Musiklandschaft neudefiniert. Die Wahlberlinerin liefert mit ihrer Musik die
volle Palette an Emotionen. Die Künstlerin will mit ihrer innovativen und Genre übergreifenden Musik den Soft Spot der Menschen treffen. Mit einem Fokus auf Melancholie möchte sie mit ihren Texten Bilder malen und ein neues Hörerlebnis für ihr Publikum schaffen. Ihre Musik ist eine ungefilterte und ehrliche Reflexion der menschlichen Erfahrung und erforscht Themen wie Liebe, Verlust und die Komplexität von Beziehungen sowie die Ups and Downs des Erwachsenwerdens. Trotz der oft melancholischen Natur ihrer Musik verleiht AMBRA ihren Songs einen gewissen Note und schafft die Balance zwischen Verletzlichkeit und Stärke. Ihre Darbietungen sind fesselnd, ihre Stimme raw und die Musik so echt wie lange nicht mehr. 2024 startet AMBRA ihren neuen Karriereabschnitt und arbeitet an ihrem ersten Tastemaker Projekt.

*Transatlantic Impulse Response* is a unique Zimbabwean + Brazilian/German collaboration featuring the Matepe mbira, roots drumming from the deep traditions from both sides of the ocean, Afro-futurist electronic beats, and a combination of all these. 

Besides being performing musicians, Othnell "Mangoma" Moyo from Harare, and Fabiano "K'boko" Lima from Berlin/Recife are ethnomusicological researchers, multi-instrumentalists, teachers and ambassadors of the rich musical traditions of their native countries. Unfortunately there are only very few remaining master musicians of this instrument, and Othnell "Mangoma" Moyo- likely Zimbabwe's most prolific and widely known percussionist - dedicated himself to becoming one of them, and take this unique tradition into the current generation.

Fabiano "K'boko" Lima's mission is to transfer the musical essence of traditional music into contemporary electronic styles without degenerating into "ethno loops" - mere exotistic decoration. He is Berlin based Brazilian artist, DJ, producer, percussionist, music therapist, and social worker from Brazil. Specializing in afrodiasporic bass music, his beats seamlessly blend organic Afro-Brazilian roots with digital and electronic influences, drawing inspiration from afrodiasporic sounds from all over the globe. Together with his musical sensitivity and deep understanding of (colonial) history and traditional spirituality, this is an indispensable prerequisite for approaching the musical heritage of the Matepe from the technological side, effectively making “electronic” Berlin a third coordinate in the triangle with Harare and Recife.

*The matepe is a type of mbira (lamellophone) from northeast of Zimbabwe and adjacent areas in Mozambique. Regional variants include the hera and the madhebhe.Created from strikingly simple elements, the otherworldly beautiful matepe music is without doubt among the most complex and sonically rich on the entire African continent - nothing in the world sounds like matepe!

Othnell "Mangoma" Moyo and Fabiano "K'boko" Lima have been invited to participate in the cultural preservation project "Matepe 21st", conducted by symres.org and the German Embassy Harare, which spawned that collaboration. The matepe is arguably the most sophisticated lamellophone on the African continent, unmatched in sonic complexity and technique - imagine a huge 3-octave kalimba with mysterious basses and tuned overtones.

Alai K a.k.a Disco Vumbi is a Kenyan producer, musician, singer-songwriter and DJ now living in Berlin. Born in Mombasa on the Kenyan coast, Alai K has an exciting story of musical development from his early days as a Kenyan hip-hop pioneer to his current fusion of traditional East African coastal rhythms with high-octane electronic music. Alai K aims to combine electronic music, live instruments, Mijikenda rhythms, Chakacha and Benga music and to establish a space for African artists within dance music culture.

Nunofyrbeeswax write and play a bunch of pop songs as raw as their hearts in a minimal set up. Their music escapes easy associations, however, their sound has been described as an idiosyncratic blend of garage rock, post punk and proto indie -for whatever that means. The essence of their sound channels raw energy, melody and charming amateurism.

Formed in 2016 in Berlin as a duo with common love for Beat Happening, Minimalism and Rock and Roll, Nunofyrbeeswax started composing and performing restlessly. Since then the band has toured Europe several times and the U.S. They supported acts such as Toody Cole of Dead Moon, Chain and the Gang, Shopping, Nobunny, Martin Bisi, John Davies and The Cicadas, Cocaine Piss, as well as played at national and international festivals like Down By The River in Berlin, Millionaire’s Club in Leipzig (DE), Double Jeu Festival, Marseille (FR), Festival de La Cour Denis (FR).

Since their formation the band released two albums and an EP, plus singles and live albums. Stratotoaster, their most recent studio effort, was released on vinyl in 2021 via Et Mon Cul C’est du Tofu, Twintoe Records, S.F.S, Pied de Bieche in Europe, and Youth Riot Records in the U.S. Stratotoaster melts seamlessly into one greater musical entity without holding back on arrangements and experiments. The album’s backbone is made by rhythms driven by pounding percussions and coloured with primitive guitars, unexpected collaborations and vocal harmonies.

Nunofyrbeeswax has two new releases on the way: a split 7” single with Top Down (out in June 2024) and a new LP album titled Hablo Raro (out in September 2024).

Oiro ist eine Punkband, die ohne Staub und Schleim erfreulich weit weg von Blackpool beheimatet ist, nämlich Düsseldorf. Eine Stadt, aus der viele gute Bands kommen und auch viele schlechte.

Mit Jamaican Jazz und handfesten Reggae-Grooves bringen  Wood In Di Fire bei ihren Live-Sessions die Dancehall zum Toben. Was  als Jam-Projekt von Musikern aus verschiedenen Berliner Bands begann, hat sich zur festen Formation entwickelt. Doch  der Session-Gedanke ist  immer noch lebendig: Die Bandmitglieder und Gäste bringen die verschiedensten Einflüsse aus Reggae, Jazz, Ska, Latin und Afro-Beat mit und sorgen damit immer wieder für überraschende Kicks. 
Auf zahlreichen Touren durch Deutschland, Österreich, Frankreich, Spanien, Ungarn und der Schweiz begeisterten Wood In Di Fire ihr Publikum mit ihrer außergewöhnlichen, interkontinentalen, musikalischen Fusion auf treibenden Reggae Beats und Jazzy Grooves.
Seit das Projekt im Jahre 2000 startete, spielt Wood In Di Fire traditionell im Berliner „Schokoladen“. Der bis heute monatlich stattfindende Reggae-Jam wurde schnell vom Geheimtipp zum etablierten Termin der Berliner Reggae-Szene.

ATOMIC LOBSTER  ist eine Band aus der lebendigen Stuttgarter Musikszene, bestehend aus Ella Estrella Tischa (Gitarre/Gesang), Daniel Herrmann (Bass/Gesang) und Armando Bleher (Schlagzeug). Inspiriert von Vorbildern wie PJ Harvey und Radiohead haben sie ihren eigenen Sound entwickelt. Ihre Musik, eine geschickte Fusion aus Grunge mit Nuancen von Soul und Trip-Hop, zollt ihrer Nostalgie für die 90er Jahre Tribut und bringt gleichzeitig neue, unverwechselbare Klänge mit ins Spiel.

CLAWS - das Debütalbum von ATOMIC LOBSTER, ist ab dem 17.05.2024 überall zu hören. Das Album ist das Ergebnis eines dynamischen Schreibprozesses zwischen Stuttgart und Berlin und reflektiert die Spannungen unserer Zeit, ohne dabei in Resignation zu verharren oder zynisch zu werden. LSD – Liebe Statt Drogen ist eine der bekanntesten Lesebühnen Berlins. Jeden Dienstagabend gestalten die 5 Mitglieder von LSD und eingeladene Gäste im Berliner Schokoladen ein Programm aus neuen Texten und Songs. Gegründet 1996 besteht LSD heute aus den Mitgliedern Andreas „Spider“ Krenzke, Tobias „Tube“ Herre, Uli Hannemann, Eva Mirasol und Ivo Lotion. Alle 5 genannten Künstler sind als Autoren und Musiker auch in anderen Bereichen aktiv.

LSD bietet jeden 1. & 3. Dienstag ein Offenes Mikro für Menschen an, die spontan etwas vortragen wollen. Beachtet bitte, dass der Beitrag selbstverfasst sein muss und nicht länger als 6 Minuten dauert. Wer am Offenen Mikro liest, braucht keinen Eintritt zahlen und bekommt ein Freigetränk.

Mad Kate | the Tide are a post punk conceptual performance project with the Tide on guitar, loops, electronics and Mad Kate on vocals, poetry, contact mics and performance.

Now joined by Sara Neidorf on drums, Mad Kate | the Tide has just finished an EP This Morning Waking about genderbased violence and is working on an LP sexWORKperformanceART about the relationship between labour, art and the body. Their Discography also includes ALIVE:ness (LP/eBook 2014), Combinatorics (EP/eBook 2013), will be ready – the Teufelsberg session – (LP Freudian Slit Records 2013) and Leather Jacket (Single/remix 2012)

Composed in dialogue with conceptual explorations and texts, Mad Kate | the Tide’s dynamic sonicscapes mix punk, acoustic folk, psychedelic rock and spoken word. They form the backbone for honest, sometimes darkly provocative performance art and movement which provokes and stirs its audiences.

In their multimedia work ALIVE:ness they ask: To what extent are we alive in each other’s lives —physically, emotionally, electronically, living or dead — taking into account our contemporary context of virtual interaction, shape-shifting and polyphysical interpretations of our own identities? What does it mean to be present when the terms of our own existence are relative to how we interact physically and virtually with those most close to us? What does it mean to queer our identity in a global context in order to be more effective activists and global citizens?

 SPITPLAY are a new Berlin post-wave noise duo, Godzilla meets Eurythmics. Their music features: a relentlessly straight 90's drum machine, a distorted mantra-monotone bass, synthwave and noise sprinkles and vocal acrobatics oscillating between dreampop sweetness and Diamanda Galas performance. A flowery neologism for a feuilleton drawer would probably be Alien Goth Pop.
