LOW HARNESS < London >

New Falmouth-based band Low Harness announce debut album, Salvo, released via Krautpop! on 6th December.

Channelling atonality and noise alongside expansive shoegaze and hypnotic krautrock, Salvo captures a sense of instability and unknown terrors; political unrest, impending and current wars, economic crisis, environmental collapse and the loss of loved ones.

The album’s lead single and title track ‘Salvo’ acts as a linchpin for this pertinent unease. One of their heavier songs, it offers a commentary on the onslaught of violence that is a daily reality for global communities.

BLOKE < London - Berlin >

BLOKE, a noise and psych rock project originally from London and now based in Berlin, is rapidly gaining recognition for its unique fusion of Krautrock rhythms, psychedelic layers, and garage punk energy. Fronted by German artist Jakob Buraczewski, who spent five years immersed in London’s alternative music scene, the band has built a reputation for its raw, intense performances and boundary-pushing experimental sound.

With their debut EP scheduled for release in early 2025 through Tonzonen Records/Cargo Records, BLOKE is emerging as a standout act to watch. Café Chocolat, is a new music series and community building event created by Melissa Perales (M:Soundtrack, Durchlüften, Music Pool Berlin) and Batila (the Dream bus, BantuSoul Allstars). We aim at celebrating and supporting local talents and newcomer black and brown artists & DJ’s within the diaspora of Germany’s communities. Our main thesis is that when communities are supported and treated fairly they will thrive. This includes everyone from the artists on stage, to the door person or the sound engineer - We believe with more emphasis on “all of us”, we can create a more equitable event and make a contribution to our music scene. Please come out and support our efforts so we can continue this event!

mari.ama embodies Afropoean culture with roots spreading across Sierra Leone, Guinea, Germany, France, Czech Republic and Norway - a blend of influences that resonates through her music. Fulani nomad by heritage, she weaves melodic trails from the urban landscapes of Freetown, Cologne, Paris and Berlin, leaving a fusion of folk, soul, pop, beats, and West African instruments in her wake. Embracing the notion that home can be found between worlds, mari.ama forges her own sonic realm where Afrodiasporic and Western sounds serve as vessels for stories of depth and lightness.

Adelle Nqeto's music stems from the gaze of an introverted observer with a passion for melody and stories. Rooted in South African folk and exploring Jazz, Indie and Pop sensibilities, the Berlin-based musician’s work expresses the beauty and complexity in our human reality. Quite fittingly, her music style has been labelled as “Alternative African Folk”.

DJ Ghostpoet - Obaro Ejimiwe (Ghostpoet) is a Berlin Based  artist, musician, Dj and curator with a Nigerian/Dominican background playing a heady mix of the Afro-diaspora sounds from his London upbringing and travels worldwide.

DJ Radio Hobo Berlin based, is a german-venezuelan DJ, curator and founder of radio shows like „Troptopia“ on Cashmere Radio or the rare groove radio show RRYTM on THF Radio. Since over a decade Radio Hobo's vinyl sets are packed with tropical sounds from the 60s-80s and have brought him from Bruxelles to Rotterdam, Cape Verde to Mali.  He played for radio stations all over the world (Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM, Bruxelles’ Kiosk Radio, Istanbul’s Year Zero, Soho Radio London, to name a few) and Gigs at Berlin Venues such as Humboldt Forum, Anima, Bartausend, Monarch or Acud.  Where he plays there is "Tropical Heat Guaranteed“!

OUR House band : Batila & The Dream Bus - 
Berlin based live Band with excellent musicians such as Dodo NKishi on the drums, known from the iconic electronic group Mouse and Mars, upcoming Guitarist and producer Skyline Sun, Paul Hoyle on Bass, Inspiring Producer, Singer and healer Nane Kahle on backingvocals. Sam Konzi on guitar, Adam Pavel and Rachelle Jeanty on percussion. With Batila as the Band leader and songwriter, the sound of the Dreambus is quite unique, which Batila himself baptized as Bantu Soul, a fusion of all genres created and inspired by people of african descent. Bantu, the plural of muntu means people. “Music by people for people '' as Batila likes to say. Batila’s roots are in the Kongo and with his Artistic being he clearly declares his love for la “Rumba Congolaise '' and his continent. The sound is groovy, melodic with empowering messages and stories which will take you on a spiritual journey. And since it is a Dreambus, you will also experience many other extraordinary Artists jumping on and off the Bus.

Concept of the evening: The Dream Bus takes you on a musical journey performing their music (The members are from all over the world and their sound reflects this) AND jumping on an off the Bus are guests who will perform 2-3 songs each to give us a taste of their work, showcasing the amazing artists, poets, dancers and or multi-instrumentalists of the community! and we will always provide continued good music after the live show with a DJ who will bring it all together. When possible food will be available for sale outside the venue and special drinks on the menu at the bar.

Welcome to our table - the "Cafe CHOCOLAT STORE" will be available from this evening on with artists merchandise, perhaps clothing and craftwork or food. Our evening supports our community and we hope you feel welcome and join us in lifting everyone up!   It's a PRE CHRISTMAS shop!

Und im Dezember zusammen mit  THE MAGIC TOUCH!  Auf dem Weg durch den Dezember öffnet sich hier ein ganz besonderes Adventskalendertürchen für alle Freund:innen der Offbeat Musik. Ein bunter Blumenstrauß aus Jamaican Jazz, Rocksteady, Rhythm and Blues, Ska und Reggae erwartet euch. Jamaican Music allnight long. Zwei lang bekannte Bands der Berliner Ska und Reggaeszene treffen sich an diesem Abend. Wer danach noch nicht genug hat, bleibt unbedingt da. Offbeat Musik gibt's auch nach dem Konzert. Seit der Gründung in der Silvesternacht 1999 ging es immer um Fernweh und Flucht aus einem unerträglichen Alltag. Emoll. Melancholisch, treibend und wütend. Deutschpunk, Punkrock mit deutschen Texten. Trotz fehlender Omnipräsenz: duesenjaeger nennt man, um diesen Musikstil zu umschreiben, in einem Atemzug mit muffpotter. oder auch Turbostaat. Viele Mailorder nutzen duesenjaeger als Referenz, um Emopunk zu definieren.
Die musikalische Basis der Band liegt hörbar Genre übergreifend im Gitarrenunderground der 80er. 
Ende 2008 ist dann vorerst Schluss. Loslassen, Hierbleiben sowie die Nähe und Verbundenheit zur DIY-Szene erhalten die Spielfreude der Band. 
Ohne viel Tamtam folgen duesenjaeger spontan Ende 2010 einer Einladung und spielen ein Konzert. »Es juckte uns wieder in den Fingern«. Mit der letzten Besetzung wird jetzt wieder geprobt, getourt, gehasst. Die eigenen Vinylreleases aus den letzten Jahren sind mittlerweile auf dem bandeigenen Label Grabeland Schallfolien wiederveröffentlicht.

LSD – Liebe Statt Drogen ist eine der bekanntesten Lesebühnen Berlins. Jeden Dienstagabend gestalten die 5 Mitglieder von LSD und eingeladene Gäste im Berliner Schokoladen ein Programm aus neuen Texten und Songs. Gegründet 1996 besteht LSD heute aus den Mitgliedern Andreas „Spider“ Krenzke, Tobias „Tube“ Herre, Uli Hannemann, Eva Mirasol und Ivo Lotion. Alle 5 genannten Künstler sind als Autoren und Musiker auch in anderen Bereichen aktiv.

LSD bietet jeden 1. & 3. Dienstag ein Offenes Mikro für Menschen an, die spontan etwas vortragen wollen. Beachtet bitte, dass der Beitrag selbstverfasst sein muss und nicht länger als 6 Minuten dauert. Wer am Offenen Mikro liest, braucht keinen Eintritt zahlen und bekommt ein Freigetränk.

Kam mir eben 'Hamburger Hill' in den Sinn, bleibt es auch bei Live at the Rote Flora (CD 4) Hamburgerisch. Mitgeschnitten 2009, spielen URI GELLER die Stücke ihrer KNISTERN-7"Soul; and the Loss of it und einiges mehr. Neben James David Hasler an den Drums verbogen Michel Chevalier, Karsten Genz (von xrfaRflight) und Mario Mensch Stimmbänder,
Klarinette, Käseorgeltasten und Basssaiten. Die Band macht kein Geheimnis aus ihrer Verehrung für Mavericks wie Conlon Nancarrow und Harry Partch, legt aber los wie wiedergetaufte No Waver. Wie Mars und vor allem die Contortions, nur mit straighterem Swing, naja, so straight auch wieder nicht. Mit wildem Klarinettengequieke jedenfalls, ostinat eierndem und ebenfalls quiekendem Georgel und überdreht kirrendem und gebelltem Schreigesang à la James Chance. Chevalier stammt aus Washington, hat in den 90ern mit den französischen No Wavern Hash Over gerockt und ist hier ein Garant für das Mitreißende dieser urigen Geller.

Berlin's independent underground band The No-Counts play their own brand of rudimentary rock and roll, influenced by garage, teen punk, folk punk, and frat rock, as well as Shutdown 66-styled punk-ballads. 2019 saw the release of their second single on NO-FI Records, "Sleep Forever", a discordant minor key folk-punk anthem.
